One of the advantages of being an Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that we get to attend several events through out the year and at some of these events such as big our On Stage event we receive free products ahead of their release along with a sneak peak at the new catalogue.
Equally I also attend regular team training events where we can choose to take part in a ‘swap’ (we make a number of cards the same and swap them with other demonstrators). So the stamp set I have used for today’s card is one that I received at the Auckland On Stage event in November and the card was my swap for the December team training.
The stamp used is “Beautiful Day” and it is in the 2018 Occasions Catalogue starting from 3 January 2018.
To create the colouring on the butterfly, I firstly heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Shimmery White card stock, spritzed with water until quite wet. Using an Aqua Painter I picked up colour from dips of re-inker, just touched it to the water and let nature take it’s course. The colour just floats out into which ever direction it chooses to give the mottled effect. Each card butterfly looks different. Once it had dried, I applied a light coat of clear Wink of Stella, just for that bit of sparkle.
The back ground is created using a combination of Timeless Textures and Butterfly Basics stamp sets.
I must confess that the other swaps didn’t have the rhinestones on them….. I had a little bit of an accident when stamping this particularly card. I broke the golden rule and rocked that stamp a little thus leaving a bit of the outline showing….. what better place to put a rhinestone?!
Happy stamping!
Christine

This sweet little stamp set (Flying Home – 2018 Occasions Catalogue) works well with the new Stampin’ Blends. I am very much a novice Blends users but have been pleased with my results thus far.

A few days ago, I posted a card using the High Tide stamp. Today I have another using the same set but not concentrating so much on the lighthouse.
This is another one of those stamp sets that didn’t immediately jump out at me. It’s amazing how often that happens and then I absolutely adore the set in question.
Earlier in November I had the privilege of teaching at the Creative Inkers’ Auckland Extravaganza. As part of that each demonstrator makes a gift for our customers.
background, it the ability for this take be inked/sponge with any colour. In this instance, I used Night of Navy cardstock for the base and sponge the Year of Cheer with Night of Navy ink which really made the cooper and champagne foil pop.
Topped with an embellishment made using the Bow Builder Punch on a Stitched Circle of Night of Navy and just a bit of Copper Trim. In the catalogue the Copper Trim looks like a narrow ribbon, and it is but…… it can be spread out to create a mesh ribbon, which is what I have done in this case.
