For another project using the same Beautiful You images I used the shaving foam background more as a mat and embellishment rather than a total back ground.
I wasn’t originally planning to put the two little ‘flags’ to the right of the image however, as frequently happens, I had a little unexpected ink on my fingers which I managed to smudge on my project….. “it’s not a mistake, it’s a creative opportunity”.
And who’s to say that you can only use this technique to only create backgrounds and mats.
Why not try die cutting? For this example I have used water colour paper, an aqua painter and Soft Sky ink. The background doesn’t need to be complex, after the butterflies are the focal points. The butterflies have been die cut using the Butterflies thinlits and the greeting is from the ever popular and versatile Butterfly Basics stamp set. And don’t forget the bling!
Punches images also work well.
Not sure if you can see in the image to the right but the flowers are discreetly coloured as well. To do this I have stamped the image on Whisper White cards stock, one at a time, and then gone over the image with a Blender Pen which pulls in colour from the stamp image onto the white card stock. It is very subtle but there.
Really the options are limitless. You only need one or two colours and if you make your own background and embellishments as I have here, you know that everything will match. For all of these examples, I have justed Dapper Denim and Pool Party in shaving foam and have added a Whisper White, Soft Sky to compliment.
By now you can tell I have a great time ‘playing’ with shaving form and Stampin’ Up! re-inkers. The possibilities are endless.
Happy stamping!
Christine
