In late December, a certain awesome chap had his 13th birthday. As with many card makers, I struggle at times to know what cards to do for the young men in my life, not to mention the older men. Not helped in this case by me leaving it to the last minute. That’s one of the many challenges caused by having birthdays on or around Christmas time. We really didn’t plan that very well at all.
For this card, the stamping and mat layer are in Dapper Denim. The background is stamped on Whisper White card stock using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The numbers are stamped using the Number of Years stamp set and then die cut using the matching dies. The numbers have been slight elevated using Stampin’ Dimensionals. For that touch of bling (and yes, bling is Ok for the boys too), I have die cut Silver Glimmer paper using Swirly Scribbles Thinlets.
I must admit, I frequently turn to the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with it’s seemingly random “splots” and splashes. It is a very versatile stamp set for all kinds of cards and scrapbooking pages and can be used to create all manner of backgrounds.
Happy stamping!
Christine
